When Will I Understand?
There are no answers for
those who do not seek
There are no treasures for
those who sleep
Why does the wind blow in
the desert?
Why does the moon glow in
the darkness?
The birds don’t worry, the
spider has no fear
The snake has no legs and
the locust has no king
When will I understand?
The Way in not in your
head, the Truth is not in a book
And Life is not in a breath
For His sake I glory in my
weakness, rejoicing in my sacrifice
And giving thanks for my
suffering
In His infinite wisdom,
the foolish things of this world
Confound the wise. When will I understand?
When I stand before His seat of judgement
Prostrate, in the dust that formed me
The only good in me, what He did through me
When will I understand?
