A Square is 4 Circles on Edge
By Mike Palmer ©2005

I made an observation about the God I serve. Though you may think this is silly, I’m more and more convinced. My God’s favorite shape is a circle and here’s why I believe-

Have you ever seen the rain on the water; watched the ripples as they fade?

Have you ever thought about the moon and stars and their rotation?

Look your eyes are round!

Have you ever thought about what you look like from above? A set of tubular circles going every which way, every hair on your head is numbered; tubes of circles like spaghetti.

What about the atom or the lonely molecule? They are a sphere of made of infinite circles. My God is infinite; just like the circle and perfect unity.

You see my God is the center of everything; you know the earth would not spin so perfectly if it were not circular.

The wheels in your mind could not come to a conclusion; if it did not come full circle.

Give up and just believe me, you can see I’m convinced!

Have you ever drunk from a square cup? Can’t you see, even your lips are part of a circle?

He loves it when I wrap my arms around another, he keeps my tear drops in a bottle, my prayers are like bubbles bursting on His floor, leaving circles for Him to mop.

Why does it matter, who cares if I’m right? He must love other shapes; certainly there are many. I care because the more I know about Him the more I love Him. How on earth could I love a square?

The circle is like the lowest common denominator; like the number 1. Circles are superior, circles are strong, circles are smooth and circles are fun. Haven’t you ever owned a hula hoop?

We can link arms together; like a ring and form a circle of friends.

The more sides an object has the more circular it appears.

And finally, can’t you see a square is just 4 circles standing on edge?

So Cool!!! And I think it is incredibly insightful! Here is another full circle God is trying to acomplish… We came from God (Adam), now God continues to try to bring us back to Him. What you started Mike, with the ‘circle’ thought could take us around the universe and back with intriquing thoughts about God. Thanks for igniting this deeper thought.
